From a dream to a statement of resilience, advocacy, and discovery. ✨ Last night, I had the honor of attending the Begin with a Dreamer exhibition, where my piece, “Haitian Community: Vintage View,” is currently on display.
This exhibition is beautifully dedicated to the women of Washington, DC, and it was incredible to be surrounded by fellow DC creatives sharing the rare, powerful stories behind their art.
Being in that room felt like a glimpse into what the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence should truly look like, feel like, and acknowledge—a space where Black art solves mysteries, honors history, and reclaims narratives. 🖼️✊🏾

This piece honors extraordinary civil rights icon and DMV native, Miss Dorothy Height, highlighting her dedicated work with the First National Congress of Haitian Women.
